It poured last night - rained and rained and rained. I could hear the wind whipping around the back yard furniture as the pellets of water hit the ceiling of the roof above the room we slept in.
As the water came down and the wind whipped up I have to admit I was wondering if there would be that tornado I was originally hoping for. Was quickly changing my mind.
I am just glad it's stopped today, in time for us drive and visit Lawrence, KS. I'm hoping that if we leave at noon like we're planning we can find something(s) interesting to stop and take a look at. I will forever be the sightseer/tourist.

This morning is actually day two but I figure I can do some catch up.
We left Chicago at 5 pm Sunday. It was 9 pm when we got to Springfield, IL and got some dinner - a nice little rest stop cafe on the outskirts of town called Star 66 Cafe. The coffee could have been worse, I was impressed.
We got to the St. Louis area, over the Missouri border, about 10:45 or so. After that, was Zanes turn to drive. I could hardly keep my head up anymore. Was a long day to that point.

The rest of the drive, up until we got to his folks house in Chanute, KS at 6:30 am was a bit of a blur. We took turns napping, driving, snacking, etc. I don't remember the last time I stayed up for almost 24 hours straight. Don't think I could do it again.
Go to the house, said hi to his family, found my pj's and passed out until noon. Which is where I'll start when I continue.

Eeyore for sure. I'm the queen of doom sometimes - I assume the worst so as to avoid disappointment. I know it's not the best way to go but, well, it's who I am.
I've also been known to be Tigger though - bouncy and irritating.

I've done NOTHING. Well, I've worked, slept and gotten a few rows of Zane's scarf done but that's all. I'm feeling far too much like life is in the slow lane and no matter what I can't get it to speed up.
I've been hearing about so many of my friends going back to school I'm beginning to wonder if that should be something I aim for after the debt is reduced. Hmmm.....what would I study this time? Only time will tell on that one. But it is something to ponder.
That's it - nothing worth much to share.

I know all too well not to call them resolutions because resolutions are destined to not be fulfilled. So we are, instead, calling them GOALS. A certain J.S. would like that - GOALS are one of his favorite things.
So, with my birthday comes my list of goals. They are:
1. 45 minutes of Creativity MINIMUM per day.
2. Make meditation a part of my daily routine.
3. Create bi-weekly list of quick goals and update them regularly.
4. Smile more.
5. Be positive.
6. Have fun. Lots of fun. Clean fun, dirty fun (paint and clay are dirty - what did you think I was talking about?)
7. Use my creative skills to help others - Prayer Shawls?
8. Never stop trying to discover new things.
9. Make "fun on the cheep" the motto of the year - we must eliminate 50% of our current debt.
